Pilchuck Glass School Company Information
- United States
Pilchuck has the largest and most comprehensive educational program in the world for artists who create with glass. Dale Chihuly, with the support of patrons Anne Gould Hauberg and John H. Hauberg, founded Pilchuck in 1971. Since then, it has been a catalyst for leading artists and a model of education in the visual arts. Both glass blowing as a studio art and the broader contemporary interest in glass as a visual arts medium have evolved in large part because of Pilchuck. Today, Pilchuck retains its original experimental spirit, attracting novice and professional artists from more than thirty-seven states and twenty-five countries. It is a place where artists come to work, not only with glass, but also with their minds. The Pilchuck community is committed to: function with a global perspective. value and honor all who participate. preserve history and respect tradition. encourage innovation, experimentation, collaboration, and teamwork. celebrate effort and accomplishment. acknowledge and embrace diversity. maintain fiscal and organizational integrity. pursue excellence
